Shri Data Mohan Jamatia, Registrar General

Born on the 22nd June, 1963 at Udaipur, Tripura and did Schooling at Ramesh H.S. School, Udaipur. Thereafter, graduated in English from Calcutta University and also completed LLB Degree in 1988 from Calcutta University.
Joined in Tripura Judicial Service as the Judicial Magistrate (First Class) on 02/01/1991. Worked as the under Secretary (Law) in the Law Department, Govt. of Tripura from 1993-96 with additional charge of Member Secretary, Tripura State Legal Aid Board before the Constitution of Tripura State Legal Services Authority. Thereafter, posted as Civil Judge (Jr. Division) at Kailashahar, the then North Tripura District.
He worked as faculty in Tripura Govt. Law College, Agartala and used to lecture on Constitution, Criminal Laws, State Acts, etc. He was also entrusted to hold the charge of the Principal of the Tripura Govt. Law College for about 3 years. He had to discharge an important role for drafting of State Act & Rules in addition to his rendering legal advice & views to various departments under the State Government and discharged responsibility being the Secretary of the Administrative department of the Subordinate Judiciary. He was also additionally entrusted by the then Hon'ble Gauhati High Court as Umpire to compile and codify Tribal Customary Laws of Tripura.
Thereafter, he was posted as the Chief Judicial Magistrate at Agartala from 2004 to 2006.
He worked as the Judge, Family Court at Udaipur, the then South Tripura District and thereafter, posted as the Judge, Family Court at Agartala.
He was posted as LR and Law Secretary, Govt. of Tripura from 02.02.2012 to 31.10.2015 and thereafter, was posted as the District & Sessions Judge, Unakoti Judicial District at Kailashahar.
Shri. Jamatia had again been posted as LR and Principal Secretary, Department of Law and Department of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of Tripura from 29.11.2016 to 16.08.2019.
Thereafter, he was posted as the District & Sessions Judge, Dhalai Judicial District from 23.09.2019 to 19.03.2020.
He has now joined as the Registrar General, High Court of Tripura on 20/03/2020.
